New Plane Design Spit...

Postby C » Sat Sep 23, 2006 2:55 pm

Ed's got a bit more to come out of his designing hat. :)

Take a look at these...

Plane Design Spitfire Mk VIII ;D

[edit - and seeing as now someone's mentioned it on the other thread, I can feel safe in saying there's a PR. XI on the way too without being shot...]

I was unaware that we (the US) used spits.  Looks great, can't wait!

yep they stuck a packard merlin engine in them :D

As they did with the XVI. :)

Off the top of my head, the USAAF used at least three marks of Spit, this one (the VIII), the earlier Mk V, and then later the PR Mk XI. You used Mosquitos too. :)

The RAF caused the Mustang! The USAAF didn't want it :o

The RAF caused the Mustang!

Indeed. I think the technical way of putting it is that we wrote the specification! ;D

I think you may well find that this one is published as a pack with one or two other Mks. I don't know that for sure, but that's the impression I'm getting. :)
