Flight1's ATR 72-500?

Postby StarJourney » Wed Aug 23, 2006 7:40 pm

Hi all, I did a search but couldn't find anything.

I'm wondering if the Flight1 ATR 72-500 is any good?  Any major issues?  The website looks beautiful, but we all know about marketing..... :)

What're y'alls opinions?

Very good, but very steep learning curve.

It is one of the best add-ons for FS.

Yah well, the whole steep learning curve thing is kinda what I'm looking for!  :)  I'm rather tired of playing around with oversimplified aircraft and am ready to get into some real meat, so to speak.  I'm downloading it as I type this, I guess I'll find out shortly!

OK, I bought this thing and pretty much fell in love.  Incredibly detailed.  They claim to have made this aircraft as realistic as possible within the limits of FS9 and I believe it.  Having said that, you understand why the learning curve is so steep.  5 days owning this thing and I'm still learning how to start the engines!  LOL

Fortunately, there's an option to start the sim ready to taxi and this saves the experience.  When I start to burn out of procedures, I just restart it and take her up.

I did have to install an FS9 GPS unit to find my way around (there's an empty instrumen slot in the panel config file), but everything else is stock.  I can't wait to figure out the navigation systems!

Anyone know of a website that explains FMCs?
