It was announced a few months back and I doubt that they'll become available as singletons...

If you read the Shockwave forums you'll see there seems to be indications that they'll become available as individual planes. I'll check with Scott however ;)

As a marketing tactic, this has always puzzled me.  If I'd already purchased the Fighters pack, then a Special Edition came out with extra goodies, I'd be more than a little annoyed.

This is just IMHO and YMMV, obviously.  But my response would be, next time they released a pack like that, NOT to buy it just in case there was a Special Edition coming out shortly after.

I must admit to being a little bit vexed by this move. I've got both Heavy Bombers/Jets and Fighters and now this happens.... it is a little off.
It might be nice if they offered the Spit/Zero as free downloads to those of us who have Fighters... especially as I got the Mustang and the 190 before the Fighters pack came out!
I like Shockwave products but I'm beginning to think their marketing bods are on some kind of Class A substance ::)

Yep, it is annoying having paid over $120 for individual aircraft from them...
