General discussion about payware add-ons

Support?

Postby CODY614 » Tue Apr 04, 2006 6:56 am

I ask this in general because of some current problems I have had and the way they were dealt with.
And reading here of the problems that other forum members have had.
Just want to know how you feel the direction of "Payware is going"?
Has payware gotten cheezy.....to many developers that just throw a product and hope it works....and have no intention on providing "Help"!
Now dont' get me wrong......I'am not targetting any one in particular!......

I have to say that the support from alphasim  is very helpful and 9 out of 10 times the problem can be found on a previous topic.

A few months ago I lost my back-DVD of all my payware add-ons.  I had most saved to my HD apart from Active Sky.

I had to reformat (long story & yes I did make a back up on my USB pen) and I made a mistake by not backing AS.  I fired an email before I went to work and when I got home about 9hrs later there it was a link containg my download.

I was very, very gratefull and replyed saing thank you.

I find some companies (I won't say who in case it starts a flame war)...have pretty good Support...I usually receive responses within 24 hours...at the most...48 hours and no more than that... :)

I have had no issues with support when I need it and I have a plethora of payware from many companies.

My experiences with payware companies (however few they may have been) have always been good.

When I was first getting into payware, I sent an e-mail to RealAir asking how their products would affect my FPS, and I got a great, in-depth reply just minutes after sending it. Same goes for Alphasim. After buying Alphasim's F-22, I checked their forums and was pleasantly surprised to find such a helpful and attentive staff there.
