abacus usa extreme landscapes

Postby rootbeer » Wed Aug 03, 2005 9:17 pm

I installed the 4-CD set to my machine and now I want to know if I am really seeing it when I execute the program. How can I know? I tried clicking the Add-on Scenery button in FS2002PE, but got only three blank fields and didn't know what to do next.  OBTW, I am a complete NOOOOB when it comes to flight sims-- I can't land, can't find a waypoint, can't find the way I want to go, and can't keep it straight and level. Should I just quit now or tough it out?

Hey there rootbeer,
I don't know much about FS2002 (I don't much about anything really)  :P however, if the installation for USA extreme landscapes is anything like it is in FS9, you should already be seeing your new mesh.  There isn't anything else you need to do.

Like Woozy said, you have a good computer.  IMHO, you should get FS9.  Also, you should take the lessons and learn how to fly.  Don't give up.  Everybody was a complete noob at some point or another (although some will deny it).   ;) ;) ;)

You have quite the machine yourself, Woozy King. Mine is actually kind of slow. I think I have so much stuff running on it that it might as well be an old 8088. It takes several minutes to shut down. My browser has an on-line "radio" station in it called LaunchCast, on which there are dozens of different types of music. If I have it on and try to play FS, I'll get stumbles and jitters in the music and the video. I hate that, but I don't know how to turn some of the stuff off.

As to learning how to fly, I went to the flight school portion of FS2002 but found no button to click that would make it start. I just sat there, looking at a frozen screen and had to separate the machine from its power source to get out of "flight school." I got nowhere with it... So what am I doing wrong??
