737 NG expected hopefully by tomorrow.

Its on the way.  I had ordered the CRJ Experience with my Christmas cash but it is on back order so I changed my order to the 737 NG.  I thought, might as well go hard core trainer.  I heard that under the original FS2002 config the 737 NG was a system hog but now I have read that the FS9 version has several installation levels which include stictly 2D, no cabin, VC no cabin, and full virtual interior.  Is that all true and if so does it make a difference with the lighter versions?  I wouldn't want to have to fly it in 800x600 just to get enough fps.

Well, I remember with 767 PIC and PSS 747/777 the FMC took me a while to get the hang of. It had to do with how a FMC closes an airway in requiring that you must list the end waypoint before listing the beginning.

What  I like about the 737NG FMC is once you fill out the information on the page you just click the 6R button and it will take you to your next page the INFO. is needed..Remember after putting in your DEP and ARR airport go to "NEXT PAGE" to insert the route....and don't get your V1, VR, and V2 speed until you have picked a runway...enjoy

Well yes I guess then i'd be best advised to recieve my t/o clearence before entering my V-speeds.  Does the 737's FNC also prompt for the fuel economy data and cost index and all the bean counter related stuff that typically doesn't effect navigating the aircraft? You know, I usually don't fly IFR when using an FMC because with ATC throwing vectors out and stuff I typically end up hand flying on heading hold anyway.  I usually don't set up Vnav functions either mostly because I've never quite figured outhow to enter that data and make it work.  I typically just fly altitude separatly in my auto-pilot.  Does decent printed documentation come with it or is it all PDF?

Oh, I won't stress about it but I will have fun.  I am going to do some serious airline flying.  I know its not totally un-realistic to fly em by hand or at least partially by hand.  I've read in Les Abend's articles in "Flying" that on lots of boring flights he likes to use an archaic control on the AA757/767's.  Its called a yoke, lol.

Well I just got the PDMG B1900D and it does come in 2D, 2D and VC , and 2D, VC, Cabin selectable. I guess one could do the same thing for any plane by modifiying and/or copying the aircraft files and aircraft.cfg.

I would love to try out 737 NG, but I'm learning the 767 PIC, just the learned the basic intro to FMC. Still have to read the rest of the long manuals! Maybe by that time the pmdg 747-400 will be out by then!

New 767 PIC?  I didn't know there was a new one out thats FS9 compatible.  I know of the A-320 PIC and now the Feel There Embraer will be published by Wilco in a PIC edition.  I finally got my 737 NG just about 10 minutes ago.  LOL, in fact I was on the phone with Flightsimcentral tracking my order and while the service rep was looking me up the Fedex truck backed in my driveway.  I told her, I know exactly where my 737 is and she said, "probably almost at your door by now" .  I didn't know that bad winter weather was bogging down things in the western US.  FScentral is in Reno NV.  Still, considering the bad weather exactly one week isn't too shabby.  Kudos to Fedex.

There was an old add-on, Pilot in Command 767. Originally made for FS2000 and patched for FS2002.
Very immersive and complex product indeed, and the new FS2004 version is due very soon...
