A new definition of payware?

Postby Wing Nut » Wed Sep 29, 2004 9:58 pm

You know, I don't mind paying for add-ons, but let's call a spade a spade here.  This site 'Donationware.net' is offering planes for a 'minimum donation' of $5.00.  Now $5.00 is not a lot and it is for a good cause, but calling it a donation is ridiculous.  They are forcing you to pay to get the plane, so they are selling it, plain and simple.  It's just trying to make it sound like you're doing this noble thing by buying it and if you want to pay more than the listed price, then you're welcome to!

Is it just me that thinks this is a load of diaper filling?

Donationware that I have used before (not affiliated with donationware.net) tend to be accessible at no charge and if you wish to donate you can and 9 times out of 10 I have donated as much as the asking price or more. I would say its more like inexpensive payware with the ability of donating more if you like to keep them going.
