Guages

Hi.
Can someone help me please. I d/l 2 different versions of the Beachcraft Duke 60 prop plane from this site. Although I believe they are complete, neither shows a full set of guages. I opened the guages folders & dragged the contents into the main fs2002 guage folder, but many are still missing. I'm new to this, so any advice would help. i've printed off the help installation guide, so I think I've done it right. thanks.

Usually, missing gauges are either not properly installed in the gauge folder or they are not properly refered to in the panel.cfg. If the name used is incorrect, it won't be accessed and, in a number of cases, the gauge file is a package deal (more than one gauge in the file) as an "!" in the panel.cfg reference would indicate.

That might explain it. The Standard edition is missing some of the extra gauges used on 3rd party panels. This is the only reason some aircraft are described as 'FS2002 Pro Only'. They will work fine in the Standard version but some gauges might be missing from the panel.

What ozzy, Hagar and I are saying is that you'll have to compare the guages listed in the panel.cfg to those that are and/or aren't displayed. If all of the added gauges are accounted for (displaying), the missing ones were probably only stock (included) in the "Professional" edition.
To remedy this, the quickest fix would be to change the reference in the panel.cfg to similar gauges that are in your gauge folder; the most obvious would be those listed in the panel.cfg of your stock aircraft (but I should warn of possible sizing differences). The more accurate method would be to search out a source for the missing gauges.

The easiest solution would be to alias it use one of the default panels or find a 3rd party panel that does work in FS2002 Standard.

Another tool you might get for yourself is CfgEdit (freeware) or FS Panel Studio (payware). If you are a dedicated add on plane user one or the other of these utilities is a must for getting panels squared away.

Either will tell you which guages are missing and which folder or plane that they come from. That at least will give you an idea of what to Google for or what guages to "canabalize" from one of your other planes.

I used CfgEdit for a long time but eventually switched over to the payware version- Panel Studio. CfgEdit is perfectly adequate though.
