Simulator Crashes

Postby SIMple » Thu Dec 01, 2005 5:15 am

Hi,

My FS2002 has started to develop some very strange behaviour. On certain aircraft, the sim will immediately shut down if they are selected and display the dreaded 'Error report' pop up.

It baffles me as these aircraft worked fine until recently, and even uninstalling the game and deleting/reloading the aircraft does nothing.

:(

Isn't Microsoft wonderful? :-/

It my be a virus. My friend had got one. The same thing is on me. All I can say is that a download was defective and failed along with some others. this acts like a virus but does not register as one. I found the plane and deleted it. ;)

Why!who is this man making defective stuff?why why why :'(

I think I may have solved the problem.

Its something to do with the panel.dll file.  When an aircraft has a panel that the simulator 'doesn't like' it crashes.

Change the panel of the aircraft to a different one, and I can use the aircraft.

A solution, but still annoying not being able to have the panel of choice on some aircraft.

I seem to remember having a similar problem with a panel (can't remember which aircraft), when the panel was deleted everything worked fine again; the aircraft itself was OK.  It happens sometimes, but very rarely.  Always best to load in each aircraft one by one and test fly to isolate any possible problems.  You said "certain aircraft", implying more than one.  Let us know if this keeps happening.
