Taxi-ing at Night

Postby G-EORGE » Sat Dec 03, 2005 10:53 am

Am i the only person who finds it bloody difficult to see the taxiways when making a night landing??.  I know the blue lights mark the edges of the taxiways, but I can never tell where they actualy meet the runway, and progressive instructions don't work until the aeroplane is actually off the rwy.

Does anyone know of a way of making either the taxiway markings or the lights brighter - I get fed up with taxi-ing to the terminal via the grass... >:(

Try turining the taxi/landing lights on, they generally help you see.  ;)

I had gathered that  :)  My problem is not actually during the taxi, its finding a taxi way of the rwy after i land,

If you don't find the airport environment upgrade, just turning down (or off) the room lights can make a big difference.

No wonder I couldn't find it when I looked there. I spelled environment wrong. 3.0 is the latest version for 02, 7.0 is out but it's fs9 only.

I had a quick try with the room lights off and it seemed much better,  Isn't it bad for your eyes though?

Hello,

The problem of not finding the way throught a dark airport scenery is well known.

You could add yourself lights to a scenery by using Airport for Windows 2.6. It is not so difficult to do this... but you can try and... succeed.

I am myself rebuilding the airport of EBOS and have spend a lot of energy to make nightflying possible. This scenery will be released very soon.
The scenery is made part with Airport for Windows and the buildings with GMAX.
On the screenshot an exemple of what you can do: adding holdshorts, centerlights and blue lights.
