In Rememberence Of Sept 11th

Postby DTWD » Wed Mar 13, 2002 9:55 pm

Pete please don't delete/move this. I need as many people to see it as possible.

Hello my name is Paul.

Some of you know me, some of you know of me, and some of you don't know me.

It has been just over 6mths since Sept 11th and I still haven't don't anything in rememberence. But today i decided i would do.

Those of you who know me may know i like audio editing. Well i would like to respectfully create an audio file that remembers everything that happend on sept 11th. I wish to show that every country lost people, and that it changed the world forever not just america. But i will be focusing on America and Britain. America for odviouse reasons and Britain because of the support we have given the americans. I will not be making fun or anything like that.

But what i need from you people is this.

If anyone has any audio or video the audio could be taken from of the following could you please let me know.

-Any footage or audio of everything that happend. Even small snipets are usefull.

-Any news reports of the day and the following days regarding what happend.

-politcal talk about said events.

-military action taken after

-bush/blair/powel/guliany(don't know how to spell that one) discussing events

and anything else you think relavent. Any ripping and compression questions just ask here and i can give you advice.

paul

ps if you are still concerned i won't handle this in a delicate way please feel free to download a rememberence mix i did for Princess Diana. Now the style i am wishing to pursue for Sept 11th is completetly different. But it shows that i will handle things properly.

Be warned it is nearly 15 megs big.

www.dtwd.co.uk/downloads/mixdownvbr.mp3

but it is freshly exported tonight.

All i wanted the footage for was to rip the audio off it. I am not planing a vidio or anything. Just audio clips set to differenet music. But done in a good way.

Eric_Rose i have not recieved anything from anyone. So i suggest you check the size of it, it may be to big to send via email.

and Maccers i don't know your connection to sept 11th (i take it thats what 11/9 means) but if you could give me an idea of your connection i can stear clear of covering it, if you want.

I'll probrtby get some negative feed back from this, but I know it was the worst act of terrorisum to have ever happened, but the way I feel is there are too many rememberance days for it. I mean there has been a 24 hour, 1 week, 1 month 2, months rememberecnce days etc........What we should be doing is looking towards the future not remembering the past. And before anyone starts throwing a wobboly over this post, I lost my brother in it all. This is just my view on it all.

I have to agree with Mat a little. I think we should definitely look to the future rather than dueling on the past. At the same time though, I feel that the future generation shouldn

Last Mon 11 Sep 02 (6-month anniversary), there was a 2 hour documentary on CBS titled simply "9/11."  (That's the way most of us write our dates.  We can't help it--it's the way the Japanese watch makers put it in our Casios ;).)  I won't go into the story now, but it was almost all new footage and audio, with a lot of intimate conversation & reactions.  A copy of that would probably provide a lot of material, copyrights notwithstanding.  I video taped all but the first couple of minutes leadin.  I don't have time to edit clips, but I could ship you a copy of it if you can't get it closer and quicker.
Cheers,

Thanks for all the response to this.

Now let me address a few of your fears and help.

Mat may i first give my deepest simpathy for your loss. Secondly let me address your worry. I do not intend to focus on sept 11th in total. Thats where i will start, focusing on all the events of that day: wtc, pentagon, the plane that crashed on the way to camp david or whatever it's called. I am sorry i can't remember where it was. Pensalvania or something wasn't it? i will be then moving on to the days following the tragedy and then onto the war in afganistan and on to all the good things that have come out of it. You may be thinking "what good has come out of it?" but if you look at the world now, it's different, very different. We are on a footing of possible world destruction. But look at the friendships countries have created. Those events have virtually wiped out financial help from the US for the IRA. Everyone has sudenly opend there eyes to what terrorism is and it has brought, as Tony Blair put it, the free and democratic world closer together. Also a country has been liberated from a great tyranny and is fast on it's way to being free again. Many people lost there lives on Sept 11th, but out of that they have saved many others, they have allowed people to live and be free. I think that is something to be rembered and learned from. If we keep looking the other way from the hardship on this planet thats what could happen. But when we put our minds to it we can solve a lot of problems in a few short months. I know it's far from over in Afganistan and surrounding area's but just look what has been acheived.

hey paul i can give you the sun from the 12th of september but i will need it back fully intact though . as i want my kids to know what an evil man osama bin laden is can i trust you to return it?

Firstly thanks for you offer Gavin, but i do not need it. I am after audio only. If at a later date i or another individual wants to put my project to pictures then i may take you up on your offer. But thankyou again for your offer.

from a forigen prospective, i can tell exactly what the future of 11/9/01 is. 11/09/02, the remeberance (again) then mr. Hussain (Not the cricket player)

Maccers he is already dead. In a we are going to kill him way. But saying that we haven't got Osama yet. I think we should concentrate on getting one before we go for another. If we spread ourselfs to thinly and the perverbial poo hits the fan then we may end up all dead. We could get lucky and they could be in the same room at the same time when the SAS storms it.

[i]I have to agree with Mat a little. I think we should definitely look to the future rather than dueling on the past. At the same time though, I feel that the future generation shouldn
