Hi Hagar,

That's very good of you--thanks.

The original, as I explained is a world apart (if the screen shots are true) from the original.

I need it to do re-familiarisation & preparatory work, before flying a real C310, after some years away from one. This is why the panel needs to be as near as possible to the real aircraft. After extensive searches on the net, that one appears, by far, to be the best.

I'm not sure what FS9 is, I assume that's a code for FS2004 only files. I've never heard of DVC either.

If it's going to be a lot of work to alter it though, I'll go and buy FS2K4. You've been so helpful so far, I really wouldn't want to take advantage.

Rgds,

OK. I understand now. This might not be too difficult but it all depends on the gauges. I have to go out soon so will look at this when I have more time.

FS9 is simply another name for FS2004. FS2002 is FS8 but rarely referred to as that.

DVC = Dynamic Virtual Cockpit. This is the interior view of the aircraft complete with functional gauges.

Right. I've had a look at this & it should be quite straightforward. First, I assume you have the Cessna 310 (rlc310q.zip) correctly installed to FS2002 & also downloaded HPC310p.zip.

I'll show you the method I use for installing a new panel to any aircraft already installed to any M$ sim.

Start by opening the folder of the aircraft you wish to install the panel to. Rename the existing Panel folder to Panel.0

Now extract the new panel, in this case HPC310p.zip

On examining the extracted folder you should see 3 more zipfiles named gauges.zip, panel.zip & Texture.zip. First extract panel.zip. Open the extracted folder & cut/paste the folder named panel into the parent folder of the Cessna 310 - FS2002\Aircraft\RLC310Q

Extract gauges.zip - open the extracted folder until you see 26 GAU files. Click Edit/Select All on the menu bar & paste all the files into FS2002\Gauges. Do NOT overwrite files/folders if prompted.

Is this starting to make sense?

Right, now extract Texture.zip. This contains one texture named VC_PANEL.BMP. This is the new DVC texture so paste this file into the Texture folder of your Cessna 310. This time overwrite files/folders if prompted. We're almost ready to go.

As this is an FS9 panel it uses the FS9 defaullt GPS gauge. You can modify it to use the FS2002 default GPS like this:

Find Panel.cfg in the Panel folder you just installed & open it in Notepad. Scroll down until you see this entry:

[Window01]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=512
window_size_ratio=1.00

Success!!! ;D

Finally got what I set out for, but couldn't have done it without everyone's help.

So, big thanks to you all, with a special thanks to Hagar--you're a scholar and a gent' sir!

Dir.

P.S. Overall, I think it's a great panel, just a couple of obvious items that could do with attention etc, but is eminently useable. This has whetted my appetite, so there may well be some more threads before long ;).

Glad to hear it all worked out. ;)

Unfortunately there's no standard templates for configuring downloads. They will alll differ in some way due to the author's own preferences. However, the basic principles remain the same. Read & take note of any included instructions but don't necessarily follow them to the letter. It should get easier when you know what you're looking for. I've been doing this for a long time & can install most things in a matter of seconds without reading instructions. It takes far longer to explain how it's done.
