Delete gauges\gps.gau and replace it with the original from CD1\FS2002.cab.

In the future when you see a message that says "Gps.gau already exists.  Do you want to replace it?" say no.

Put CD1 in your CD tray and navigate to it with explorer  Tiy will see a file called FS2002.CAB.  It's 49,428 KB.

If you have WindowsXP you can then just open the file.  If you have Windows98 you will need WinZip or WinRar or similar file compression/uncompression utility to get into it.

Once you have opened it extract gps.gau.  There are 1,585 files inside of if but the only one you need is gps.gau.  You can extract it to anywhere you like - I usually use C:\TEMP.

Now that you have extracted the file navigate to the folder where you extracted it.  If you extracted it to C:\Temp you may need to dig down a bit to something like C:\TEMP\Game\gauges\gps.gau.

Now that you have found it Cut and Paste it to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FS2002\Gauges (assuming you are using the standard installation path).  If you get a message that says "Gps.gau already exists.  Do you want to replace it?", say Yes, because we are assuming whatever is in there now is bad.

Exit explorer and any other applications and start up FS.  Your GPS should be restored.

The next time you download a panel and the instructions tell you to "extract all gauges into your gauges folder" it's ok to add gauges but JUST SAY NO to replacing unless you want to risk losing your original gauge.
