Normally the gear are listed in the first 3 points. Wheels are class 1 (the first entry after Point.x=). The tail wheel, or nose wheel can be identified by its Longitudinal Position (the second entry), being farther aft, if a tail wheel, of the other 2 wheel entries. Its lateral position will most likely be 0.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.
