Painful confession

Postby Jamie » Thu Dec 09, 2004 9:06 am

Well all ,
This really hurts !  I posted an article regarding my aircraft insisting on pulling to the left and rudder sensitivity rendering aircraft almost uncontrollable  .  I replaced my joystick with a standby and was better .  My old one has some " play " in the movements so decided it was worn out .   Turned out to be my brain that had the slack !

I could not remember exactly how to calibrate the controller and went to the calibration thing and went through the movements and watched the columns of color and thought I had calibrated .   I attempted that one more time last evening and discovered that I had actually acomplished nothing .  I proceeded on and did the calibration properly with making a control movement and pushing any button to proceed to the next calibration , etc.   It now works perfectly as it did in the beginning .

Many good minds ( except one ) worked on this problem and calibration was the correct response .

My apologies and thanks to all .  Mystery solved .

Humbly ,

Jamie

Huh? Calibrating the joystick actually FIXED it?  ???  Since when did this start happening?  I must have (I'm not kidding here, dead serious) calibrated my old logitech 150 times (that was the part I was serious about) to no avail.  ::)  Oh well, heres to success stories!

HI beefhole ,

I started with an inexpensive Logitech and had a rough feel to the joystick .  I discarded it and got the Microsoft Precision Pro and have loved it  .  Calibration did make the difference in this one and I can let go of the controller now and will usually track straight down the runway .  I have put up with it messed up for a long time and is such a pleasure to fly now with good control .

Also -- Thanks Dan ,
