TO ALL FS2002 REAL PROFESSIONALS

Postby coppershot » Sat Jul 24, 2004 11:56 am

I HAVE BEEN HAVING A PROBLEM GETTING A VARIETY OF COMMERCIAL AIRLINERS AT MY AIRPORTS WITH NO SIGNIFIVANT HELP FROM ANYONE ON THIS FORUM. I THINK EVERYONE IS MISUNDERSTANDING ME. I HAVE COMMERCIAL AIRLINERS FROM A TO Z, BUT ONLY ALITALIA, DELTA, JAMAICA, QANTAS AND SOUTHWEST ARE SHOWING UP AT MY AIRPORTS. I HAVE TTOOLS, NEW AFCADS, GOOD FLIGHT PLANS WITH THE INTENDED AIRCRAFT PROGRAMMED AND EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO MAKE MY FLIGHT ENJOYABLE. I WAN TO KNOW IF MY LOW GRAPHIC VIDEO CARD OR ORIGINAL TRAFFIC.BGL OR SOMETHING ELSE COULD PREVENT ME FROM HAVING ALSO BAMASAIR, BRITISH AIR, UNITED, AMERICAN(#1), SINGAPORE AND MORE TO ALSO BE SEEN AWAITING IFR TAXIING? IF ANYBODY COULD HELP ME PLEASE DON'T REPLY ASKING ME ABOUT TTOOLS AND SUCH. I KNOW HOW TO USE ALL OF THE UTILITIES ON SIMVIATION AND FLIGHTSIM. I NEED MORE CONCRETE INFORMATION FROM SOMEONE WHO REALLY KNOWS. I EVEN TRAFFIED TRAFFIC MAGICIAN THROUGH DESPERATION BUT NOTHING SEEMS TO GET ME MY ADDITIONAL COMMERCIAL AIRLINER VARIETY

Hi CopperShot. Can you give us the actual spec of your PC? I doubt this very much, but you may have filled the list in FS2002. Try taking away some of the entries that are there, and replacing with those that aren't. I don't want to make you sound stupid, but you do have 'Traffic Percent' at 100, don't you?

MY PC IS A 733MGHZ PENTIUM III MICROPROCESSOR, WITH 7 GIGS OF STORAGE SPACE. I HAVE 256 MEGS OF MEMORY AND AN INTEGRATED VIDEO CARD WHICH IS ONLY 64 MEGS. I NEED TO UPGRADE BUT WOULD THAT BE THE SOURCE OF MY PROBLEM? I DON'T THINK THAT YOU COULD EXAUST THE FS2002 LIST. I HAVE 25 DEFAULT AIRLINERS OF THE HEAVY TYPE AND ONLY 2-3 TYPES, SHOW UP AT MY AIRPORTS. I JUST GET ALITALIA, NORTHWEST, DELTA SHOWS UP PREDOMINANTLY, AIR JAMAICA AND SOUTHWEST. I HAVE MORE WHICH ARE SET UP JUST THE SAME BUT THEY DON'T SHOW UP. AM I ALSO SUPPOSED TO HAVE A TRAFFIC.BGL IN EACH LISTED TEXTURE FOLDER OR IS THERE A WAY FOR ME TO TITLE THE AIRCRAFT IN CFG? MAYBE NOT BECAUSE SOEM OF MY AIRCRAFT DOES SHOW UP. I AM HAVE TO READ THE TTOOLS MANUAL MORE PROFICIENTLY BEFORE I CAN GET THIS WHOLE THING TOGETHER.

1.  No need to yell.

2.  Make sure you're at an airport that you've got those planes flying to.
Great edit, Bob.

Google it.

Hi Coppershot.  I don't know if I can help with your problem, but by "yelling" they mean typing everything UPPERCASE.

I was going to point this out myself. It doesn't bother me but might put off the "Real Pros" from answering your questions. ;)

I've already tried to point you in the right direction but like most members of this forum I'm by no means a pro. This is my hobby but I help out where I can. You say you already know all there is to know about AFCAD & TTools but this is what it all comes back to. Unless you've downloaded & installed existing flight plans for all your airlines at the airports you use you will have to create them yourself. Airliners usually spend more time in the air than on the ground so you have to know the times when they will appear at your airports.

Here's a few things to consider. You need to have an updated airlines.cfg including all the airlines you wish to be available. Airports must have sufficient parking spaces of the appropriate type or AI aircraft won't land there. The Aircraft.cfg call-sign entries must be exactly right or FS2002 won't recognise them. For Example: The call sign for British Airways (BA) is SPEED BIRD. Some well-known airlines are not recognised by FS2002.

...Good idea :)

In addition to what Hagar and others have said, a few things to check.

In aircraft.cfg files:

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.
