Meljet 777 problems..

Postby f-16 » Wed Jun 30, 2004 10:30 am

I have the Meljet 777-200 Peter Max livery version for FS2002. However the flight dynamics are horrible! At low speeds on final, the airspeed drops to stall when I bank the plane 5-10deg. Also the pitch at low speeds is bad. The airspeed drops off VERY rapidly when making small adjustments. The spoilers are over-affective. Making the plane stall for a 2 sec. spoiler deploy. I don't think the real plane acts like this.

Has anyone had these problems with ANY of the Meljet 777's? Perhaps it is just this version of it. Is there a good version with better flight dynamics that anyone can sugest? Preferably Continental livery for FS 2002.

Thanks for all your help.

f-16,

One of the differences between FS9 and FS2002 is a slight difference in the drag programming for the planes (not talking about Eddie Izzard here!). This results in planes with FDs designed for FS9 to fly with a different attitude in FS2002; nose-up or nose-down depending on what the FD asks for. You can correct this by amending the wing_incidence parameter in the [aircraft_geometry] section of the aircraft.cfg file. If you increase it, the nose drops and vice versa. I have the Continental Meljet 777 flying well in FS2002 - if you alter the wing_incidence=1.0 to 2.5, then this should lower the nose and cure your problem.

Remember that it's not just the Meljet - other FDs designed for FS9 and used in FS2002 might need similar attitude adjustments to fly properly.

Good luck!

:)

Hey Microlight..
Could you send me your FD for the Meljet 777. I would like to compare it with mine and see what I can change. I would really apreciate it..
Thanks
