Fltrec error message

I'm using fltrec to record flight info in FS2002. When I try to open the data file (fltrec.dat) in Excel, I get an error message that says "File cannot be opened because: The following tags were not closed" (then it starts listing some tags). What does this mean and how do i fix it?
