Taking off from Banff's airport in FS 2002.

After you take off and nose up how are you supposed to not hit the mountains?  Any advice?

You could try changing the active runway by changing the wind direction.

What's the ICAO code, what aircraft are you using and what's the wind direction/velocity?  I'll give it a try.

Make sure you aren't pulling up too far, mixture right, nothing bigger than a Cessna in that airport. Umm...turn after taking off maybe? I've never had problems with it. What aircraft are you using again?

I was in a BeechCraft.  I also tried it in a Cessna many times.  I only made it over once. I had no room to take off though.  As soon as I got going I crashed into the mountains.  .  I think I might have waited too long to nose up too.

Maybe I should try a Cessna.  Just to make sure you know what I'm talking about it is CYBA.

Sim in and outta CYBA all the time in the Baron, without problems.  Just one ?, is your runway level with the rim of the surrounding abyss, or might you for some reason be down inside.  :) If not, after lift-off you should be able to fly one of the valleys until you have alt enough clear the moutains.

Do you center your elevator trim? For some reason my (default) Baron often loads with the trim heavy nose down.

Or you might try an STOL takeoff.

Cessna 172/182. 20 flaps, and full throttle, take a little mixture off (for more power), and then let go of the brakes, don't pull up til it's past the white arc, then pull just hard enough to clear the runway, bank to a safe heading, flaps 10, and climb in circles 'til you clear it.
