Finding my F$ Specs

Postby jrpilot » Wed Feb 25, 2004 5:28 pm

Sorry if there is a diffrent forum to put this topic in...

My question is how to find the specs by which I mean all these files I hear people talking about for example my simulation rate is screwed up and I want to find this file and possibly see if there is a problem in it...can someone show me how/where I can find this or any of the files???

Thank you

Your simulation rate is displayed on the clock in your cockpit.  There is no need for a file to do this for you.

Additionally, it can be reached through the menu options at the top of your screen.
Great edit, Bob.

I understand but my simulation rate is screwed up badly VERY BADLY and I was wanting to change around the simulation mode of the simulatation mode....sounds very confusing but I think my simulation mode is screwed up

Example say 1 is the normal rate....well mine is like 2.3 times the normal rate.....do you see what I mean????

I see what you mean and will again say that you don't need a file to change this.

Either click on the sim rate part of your clock, or change it manually through the menu options.

If that doesn't work, then we're talking about an entirely different issue.  ;)

Never heard of this one before  -  are you saying that instead of taking 60 minutes to go from A to B, you're doing it in 30 or less ?

Yes correct....Someone said that microsoft had made bad games....by which I mean there is a flaw...Don't no if it is true but yes my sim. rate is so fast the ground and everything actually skips by rather than flows smoothly by...its takes about 2-3 seconds to do a mile :'(

If I understand this correctly your similation rate is stuck at 2.3.  I don't know how you managed this since the rate is usually a square or negative square of 2.  If the rate is anything other than 1 you should see a display in the upper right corner, like Rate 2x.

My first suggestion is to start with a new flight instead of your default flight.

If that doesn't work, hit R+1 (letter R, the number 1).  This should reset the rate to 1.

If you still have problems copy fs2002.cfg from the cd to your root directory.  (I believe if you just delete it it will be re-created when you run the sim again but since I'm not sure I won't suggest you try it.)
