Postby simmer » Sun Dec 07, 2003 11:26 am

Hi all.
Have been trying to land the Concorde for a while now and am failing badly.I can take off, cruise and decend grand but when i hit the ILS thats it it intercepts the glideslope and dives at about 2-3000fpm.I have tried trimming and still it hits the ground well before the runway.I am flying the concorde from the Project Mach2 website.
Need some help badly

I don't have a Concorde.  I have had several addon panels that have used the Concorde autopilot and in my opinion/experience the AP is screwed up.  They all reacted just as you described.  As soon as I install a different AP gauge it works fine.

Yes, I agree with that - the autopilot in the Concorde gauge is very sensitive to picking up the glideslope.  Don't approach too fast, and when you intercept the glideslope, use the joystick to make sure that the nose doesn't drop. Once you're on the slope, it should then hold it OK.

I haven't flied a Concorde but 2-3000 fpm isn't it too much for keeping the glideslope?
In Boeings I use a rate of 600-800 fpm to follow the glideslope and in any case I use the ground speed rule, that is multiply my ground speed by 5 the result will be my rate of descent although I may need to increase it slightly.
