Cessna on floats interesting question . . .

Postby Viktor_Z » Sun Dec 07, 2003 4:25 pm

Well, I have had my FS2002: Pro for about a year now and I didn't seem to notice this, but the thing that I have just noticed today is this:

U know these Cessna 208's I think ??? on floats. Seen them everywhere, right ? Well, the thing that I am interested with is that those AI planes never land on water. All they do is just fly around and you always see them land on land, but never on water.

Would be great to see them land on water and taxi in it ! ;D

Can someone answer how com eit is like this ? ???

Oh, and there is no Helicopter AI's neither (Bell JetRangers) and others are also left out . . . ::)

Well, I know I can download the AI helicopter plans and would see them buzz around and crash everywhere ;D, but the thing that is really interesting is the Cessna on floats thingy.

Thanx for your answers !!! ;)

Hi Viktor,

In FS2k2 the AI arcraft can only land at controlled airports and although there are floatplane bases, none are controlled. At least not where I fly.

I have created controlled floatplane bases, using AFCAD,
and using Traffic Tools, scheduled the 208's in there and they work fine.

Cheers,
dave
At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Roger that, Dave . . .

Thank you !!!

BTW, can you show me where you have got those AFCAD's and for what airports, if that wouldn't be too hard for you. Thank you !!!

Regards,
Viktor Z.
