I have just downloaded service pack 1 for XP and the fix 822603 that is supposed to gain you 10FPS in ACOF. When I start FS2k2 I now get the following error message and kicked back to desktop.
I have extracted the Traffic.DLL from Disk 1 and replaced the old one and this still happens. I think that I need to do a re-install.
The problem is (was) that it didn't matter which option i clicked, I still got kicked out. The whole lot has gone now anyway. I will start again from scratch...
Thanks for the tip, if the reinstall doesn't fix things I'll try that.
Before I reinstalled fs2002 I think I'ld try a windows XP restore to a date before you installed the service pack .You can find restore in the accessories group under system tools. If you've never done a restore before it's no big deal.
Fair point but the service pack took the best part of an hour to download and install with a broadband connection. FS2k2 takes 20 minutes. Simple maths.
Try MIKEC's option. Saved me a couple of times. Doesn't the servicepack get stored somewhere on your HD (in a folder named windows downloads or somthing) The restore poit will not delete any files, just settings as far as I know AJ
