Vultee BT-13 question

Postby burcham8 » Wed Sep 24, 2003 10:35 am

???  I recently downloaded a BT-13 onto my computer, installed it in FS2002 (I have several FS98 planes which I can call up under the "Unspecified" title) and attempted to fly it.  There was an "Aircraft initialization failure" message that came up and some reference tot the a/c mdl. file.  I wonder if the model file does not somehow agree with the CFG file.  Has anyone else had a problem with this a/c (which was designed by someone called Captainb Slug)?

Marc most FS98 planes will NOT work in 2k2. Sorry about that, it seems you just found one.
Try looking for the same model in 2k or 2k2 downloads ;)

i know of no reason why FS98 aircraft should not work in FS2002. ::)
They're usually far more basic than the current models so if there's a later version of the aircraft I suggest you try it.

If you're on WinXP I suspect the problem might be the old conflict with some earlier models & the OS - NOT the sim. If you really want this particular aircraft try patching the MDL file with the MDL Repair Utility. http://www.simviation.com/fs2002utilities_ess1.htm

Thanks, guys,

I'll try the model repair utility first.  I frequently use FS98 a/c in my flying (FS2002 Pro); I think that FS98 designers did a bunch of planes that designers for later versions have ignored.  I like esoterica.
