It's Been A While...

Postby Scottler » Tue Sep 16, 2003 9:21 pm

It's been a while since this was brought up, and I don't remember it getting any conclusive response, so I'll ask again for our newcomers.

Anyone know where I can find some static (or better yet, animated) ramp traffic, such as fuel trucks, bag carts, air stairs, etc?

It's always missing from the new releases of F$, yet for some reason, I always hope it's there.

The definition of insanity is....
Great edit, Bob.

:) Don't remember seeing this before....

Ramp traffic, whether static or dynamic is, like all scenery, specific to a location. So anyone could if they want create ramp traffic for O'Hare, JFK etc etc but it would have to be created for and installed at each airport.

I've done it in my yet-to-be-released Kai Tak, with fuel trucks and other stuff moving around the apron. The best I've seen is in the ZSHC scenery we talked about a few months ago which was not so much dynamic ramp traffic but traffic moving in all the surrounding roads and the terminal area.

LAGO's excellent FSSE (Flight Simulator Scenery Enhancer) provides lots of static traffic around the airports, such as fuel trucks, air stairs, luggage trucks, etc, etc. It's payware, and doesn't work for CoF yet, but in 2002, it really enhances some of the airports, too!

It's worth checking out!

I didn't say it was accurate realistic or any good, I just said it was there.  It also kills my frame rates so I seldom bother switching the quality up that high.
