It was once said that a Helocopter is 60,000 individual parts flying in a lose formation. But, the Bell Jetranger is one of the easier helos to fly in FS but you basicaly have to forget what you know about flying fixwing.
A previous post was right, the Colictive (throtol) controls up and down and the Cyclic (stick) controls forward, back et al. and the Anti-Torque pedals (rudder) keeps you from spinning around like a top.
So where flying an airplain is "feet and fist" flying a helo is "Fingers and toes" You have to be a balet dancer to get all the controls in the right order to atain forward fligh. One of the tuts will tell you how to set your control sensitivities to better fly a helo. But I have to change them for the rare ocasion that I am flying a fixed wing. If your joy stick does not have a throttol you will need to get one, you will need one because in flight you are constantly making subtel adjustments to all the controls all the time.
All in all it takes patents and practice. Please drop me a line with any Qs and welcome to the (very elete) world of Sim Helos.
