Virtual Airshow

Postby EirePlane » Wed Jul 23, 2003 9:12 am

would anyone be intrested in taking part in a virtual airshow online today. if you're interested then post the name of your plane here and join me on 195.93.32.11
I'm using the CF-18/B Hornet Snowbirds which is available in the FS2002 Military section.
If you dont have it downloaded already then try to download it now or it will appear as a cessna. we take off from RAF Northolt.
BTW it's called northolt AB in the game

It's a great idea, but I'd recommend putting it together far enough in advance for people to make plans.  (I'd also do it on a weekend, when fewer people at work.)

It's an awesome idea, and I think it would definitely make for some killer screenshots!

Put the word out and see if it gets some response!
Great edit, Bob.

I might come over in the DSB Eurofighter if I can finish striping the kitchen wallpaper by 20:00 GMT

What if someone were to take the time to properly plan it out...I mean just like a real airshow.

You'd have all sorts of events...flight team demonstrations, aerobatics shows, etc...all on a scheduled itinerary.

I'd think that with the proper effort and promotion, this could end up being pretty cool.  (Or dare I even say an annual event?)

I may take out the fireworks plane I posted some screens of a while ago, don't have it's name on hand at the moment. Sounds like a good idea. Be sure to speak to Ozzy and Rifleman about this because I know they'd be very interested.

Well, sounds like this thing might actually....errr...take off.  (Sorry!)

Eire, if you're interested and want some assistance (I can only imagine how much work this would take), let me know.  I'm sure I can wrangle together a few guys who might be interested as well.

A couple months back VATSIM's Edmonton FIR had a show at Red Deer. That was a lot of fun.I flew with the VUSN's F/A-18 Team.It took a lot of practice (we flew at least an hour every day for about 6 weeks)

I'm in. But again it depends on the aircraft. I'm trying to give up certain types for Lent.
Hang on its a while till Easter. Okay ;D

Yes, but if someone is to do this properly, it'll probably be about Easter before it happens.  lol

Sorry I haven't replied, I have just been looking through every page of the FS2002 military section and compiling a list of "Airshow type" planes. I have a list of the military planes for the job. You can sign up at http://fsairshow.tripod.com or email me at Mitchdm1000@aol.com with your name, E-Mail address and the plane you are using (it must be on the list)
Can anyone think of some more good ones

Does anyone know how to get more than 16 to be able to see the show (when hosting from within the game the max is 16)

I think this is a great idea, but I agree that it should be planned for a month or so down the road.
I would certainly enjoy being an observer, I doubt I could participate due to my slow dial-up connection.

Keep us posted as to where this is heading.
Still no linked images allowed around here Paz! Naughty...
