Organize it if you wish!  I recomend it!  But I will not be able to participate.  I run two systems, one with Win 98 and one with XP.  The one with 98 is the onely one I can hook up the net to, for resons that I cannot divulge.  I was trying to set this up because I can't have any online flying, but feel free to do this online if you can.

I personally think that racing long distances online would be a bad idea.  Trying to get three people together who all live in Europe is a logistical nightmare for a two hour practice.

If we have a number of cities we have to visit and a thread on which we can post our times it would be easier, and we could all do it in our own time.

Okay, Will, I take it you are going to fly this with us?  In that case, what aircraft do you want to fly?  I have Hyperion in the Mustang and myself in the H-1.  Any preferences?

Probably the default Corsair.  It was after all used for racing in the 40's.

Okay, well, this is the list of places we could go.  Give me about five picks each and I'll put together the final list, then we can decide if there are any rules I left out.

Memphis
Atlanta Hartsfield
Tupelo, Mississippi
Huntsville Intl, Alabama
Greensboro, North Carolina
Little Rock, Arkansas
Chicago O'Hare
Meigs
Oklahoma City
San Antonio
Houston
Boston Logan
Seattle
Portland, Maine
Miami
Detroit City
Minneapolis-St. Paul Intl
New York Skyports
Evers
Reno/Tahoe
McCarran Intl (Vegas)
LAX

Rules: (as I see it)

Un-modified Aircraft.
Full realism on flight dynamics etc.

I think a race between two points would be fine, something like Portland and San Fransisco or Seattle and New Orleans.

The planes we fly couldn't possibly have the range to do it in one hop (well, mine might) and the course you choose would be vital.

Screenshots are going to bog down whatever thread we put them in though...would it be easier to do a thread of just times, based on the honor system?  I trust you guys...
Great edit, Bob.

We don't need screenies for proof.  I couldn't give a fig if I came first or fiftieth and I think that with us flying differant planes it will be a comparison more than a race.

P-Factor is the result of the relative angle of attack of the propellor blades during a climb or dive.  Basically it is what makes the aircraft pull to the left on take-off.

Works fine for me.

So we takeoff from Seattle-Tacoma Intl, make part of the trip and then land.

Following this issue with interest, won't take part.  I'll be waiting for your save returnings instead and keep an eye on the beer supply in the officer's mess just to add to the realism.
What springs to mind though:
don't forget to clear all weather (wind at least). Going with a jetstream could make a big difference...

Happy landings,

Getting up into the Jet stream would be fun in a Corsair!
