This also happens when users make the model with various parts that are custom, but they include them instead of building them into it. This was a common problem from custom weapons (i.e. American SB-2 Rockets, etc) in CFS and CFS 2. But I know it is possible in FS as well, a user includes another peice in the model, but forgets to include it in the file.  :P

The aircraft model it self is not compatiable!!
The site where you got it, has so many pop-
ups I couldn't tell any thing about it, I would
trash it and look for a new plane!!!

PS; Hagar may have some better advice, check
back here in a day or two!!

I usually only support stuff downloaded from SimV. As this is a small file I checked it out. I wouldn't expect problems with Shigeru's stuff. It works fine for me on WinMe so I can only suspect your error is caused by the conflict with some older models & Win2000/XP - not with FS2002 itself.

If you're on WinXP try patching the MDL file with the MDL Repair Utility. http://www.simviation.com/fs2002utilities_ess1.htm
That should fix it but as I'm on WinMe I have no way to check it myself.

Hagar, thank you very much... Yes I have XP and the MDL Repair Utility worked perfectly. :) I just flew the plane and it works fine now.
checked out Shigeru's web site also he does a great job.
I usually download from simviation. but did a web search on the f-16xl and that other site was listed first...

Thanks Hager for the hook up....
