sound and vision errors

For three years i'm a flightsimulator enthousiast, but since yesterday the sounds and images are disrupted. I get all the planes sounds mixed and the plane start 'bumping and jumping'? Recently i've been experimenting with DVD software like Smartripper and DVD ripper. Can this be related? I've uninstalled and reinstalled FS 2002 but the problem remained.  ??? I'm running my FS 2002 on a pentium 1.8 with Windows Millennium. Is there anybody out there who has encountered the same problems?

I haven't had the same problem, however whenever I hear about an odd problem, especially one that seems to just happen suddenly, I begin to ask what changes you've made to your system recently.

Try uninstalling the DVD stuff, and see if that changes it.  This will be a good way to see if that's the culprit.

Thanks Hyperion for your reply!!! . My first impression was also that it must have been related to the newly installed DVD software. Strangely enough I did several succesfull flights afterwards the installation???. I did try already to uninstall some of it, but the problem remained.

Can it be directX related?

Well everybody, thanks for your replies (Hyperion ) I found the solution for the problem, afterall it seemed  to be that the DVD programs messed up my DirectX, so  I downloaded the latest version and !!!
