ATC and simulation rate

Postby siemerh » Wed Jul 30, 2003 7:15 pm

When I speed up the simulation rate ATC steps all over itself.  Is this normal? 8)
Where is it written?

If you mean that ATC is talking normally, but responding far too soon, then yes.  The speeded up sim rate makes the ATC speed up, too, but the voice isn't designed to speed up, so you end up getting bits of the conversation over others.  Don't worry.  If you need to hear something from the ATC, just slow down the sim rate. :)

Now why would you want to speed up the sim rate?? :)

Waiting . . . waiting . . . waiting for the AI aircraft to taxi.  Waiting . . . waiting . . . waiting for your a/c to cross the atlantic.  Things like that . . . ;)

I rather like those long haul flights, catch up on a good book, sample the inflight cuisine, beverages and other goodies and arrive refreshed for that better than average approach and landing we all know we are capable of!! As for AI I have decided on the life of a vagabond airman,so if traffic is too heavy I land somewhere else(preferably a small GA field close enough to the major to watch everyone else stack up).
Cheers ;D

If you wanna speed things up, I'd suggest another game.  lol

F$ was designed to somewhat realistically simulate real life airline aviation.  In all the time I've spent in the pit on the heavies, I've never seen a pilot speed things up.   ;)
Great edit, Bob.

Google it.
