Tell us exactly what the error message says.

I've encountered this before with incompatible gauges and you may just be able to replace it with one designed for FS2K2.

 I've had this error before also, tell us which plane or the file name, that might make it easier for someone here to help work it out too.
Still no linked images allowed around here Paz! Naughty...

Sorry to interupt TEXAS_RAIDERS

But a quick question for paz8473

I D/L a Piper Cheiftain PA-31 350
Filename: (Cheif350.zip) Downloaded from www.flightsim.com

After selecting it in Create a flight, it freezes on loading.

I installed it like any other aircraft, hoping, any of you out there has the same aircraft file and can give me a hint as to get this to work,

Thanks

This sounds like a fundamental aircraft problem. You're best of posting something in the flightsim FS2k2 forum for help, or notifying them of the trouble as they are distributing a defective model, or look for a patch that may have been released since it was uploaded.

Tex;
It sounds like a gauge in the panel that FS2K2 doesn't like. Some addons use some FS98 gauges in the panel, usually a addon itself, that raises havoc with the sim.

If possible, try a different panel. Or if you have a panel editing tool, read in the error message, what gauge is causing the error and change that one out.

I have this problem too with some planes and I think i know what is wrong, Can you tell me if the plane was made for an older flight simulator or if it is also compatible with older flight sims.

I investigated this problem in the early days. Check out my FS2002 FAQ page. http://www.simviation.com/lair/fs2k2errors.htm

The most common cause is an old version of fssound.dll included with some panels. If it's that, either find a later version or add this entry to FS2002.CFG.

[OLDMODULES]
fssound.dll=1

If a different module is causing it use the exact name of the DLL file. You could also try a different panel as Fisharno suggested.

I've got an old C-5 and C-130 panel that has some sort of Airport Finder gauge that's suppose to give you airport facilities information right from your panel. (Can't remember the name of the gauge, right now).
These would cause the same "3rd Party Errors". I redid the C-130 panel, (it had a great background), and replaced that gauge and the problem went away. I didn't know that an old sound.dll file would cause the same error.

I wonder, now that I have the new .dll file in there, would that make any difference in those old panels.  ???

Gonna have to check that out! Thanks, Hagar!

Save the original panel and replace it with another one.
