Downloading miscellaneous files from SimV

Postby flyerorange » Wed Jul 09, 2003 11:01 pm

If I want to download any of the miscellaneous files in SimV for FS2002, to what folder do I install them in, i.e. aircraft folder?  Just want to make sure I do it right.  I'd appreciate any help.   :)

Miscellaneous files could be anything. From flight adventures to tools. It all depeands on what it is. Just use the read me file. If it doesn't have one, post back here and someone will be willing to help out.

You should make a new folder name "mic"
for the downloads, then you can unzip them
there and work with them as needed
I never download anything into
a working program file, NEVER!!!
Which file are you looking at?

it depends on which files. . .if they are aircraft (vehical) files then you post them in the aircraft folder. . .if they are not then you will need to specify which file and/or read the readme.txt file

Very early in my FS experience I was very forcefully told not to download directly to an eventual target folder. Separate it totally and have a good look before installing. My downloads go simply to C:\DOWNLOADS from there I direct them to where they need to go after I've looked at them.

Red on White you're alright.

Red on Red you'll soon be dead.

I would also agree not to download anything into a program folder.  I usually download to my desktop first, then move the files as needed.

As for where to move them to, it's totally going to depend on what you're downloading.
Great edit, Bob.

Google it.
