I don't know about "Beautiful Graphics", but mine is a 64Mb card, and I think it does pretty well, IMHO.

And, personally, I don't think you can have enough HD space. It's like a refridgerator....

Please tell me you mean Gigabytes not Megabytes......

And you will get beautiful graphics with a 64MB card but your frame rate will probably be quite low.  Much also depends on processor speed and available RAM.  Generally the more RAM you have the better the frame rate at higher levels of complexity.

The image I posted above is a reduction to 800*600 JPEG from 1074*768 32 bit colours. It looks loads better on the screen.

The minimum specs on the box require 64MB of Ram so I doubt your system would cope too well.

cessna519NH,

If you really want to enjoy the features of fs2002, I suggest looking into a new system.  Although you didn't specify your processor speed, if it's a Pentium II, I doubt that it is going to accomodate much of an increase in RAM beyond 32 MB, let alone a better graphics card.

There are times when upgrading the specs can make a huge difference in gaming performance, but you have to know what your system is capable of handling before you make your choices!!!

Good luck!

Erik :)

Hey Will..........

What's up with the artificial horizon versus the real world view?  Something doesn't seem quite right.

HI Cessna519NH.........

Does the NH mean you are in New Hampshire?  I am.

As to the 64 meg card.......... I had on and found that it gave me low frame rates at airports...and airports with lots of added AI were not useable to fly into or out of.

I upgraded to a 128 M card.  Running a P4 at 2.4 gig with a 533 front side buss, 512 M ram, and a 40 and a 120 G hard drive w caching.

best,

Actually Erhan you're wrong.

The Artificial horizon, VSI and turn co-ordinator are switched to failed as the aircraft I'm flying in the shot doesn't have 'em.  I never use slew.

Cessna519NH,

Yeah... I know what you mean about things we do for a game..... well... not aq game .... but ...... maybe ..... and obsession  ;).  I just spent untold hours solving a video card issue.

If you are looking for a machine....... check out White Mountain Computer in Amherst, NH.  They are a clone shop and have been around for about 25 years now.  I have bought a number of machines from them.  Nice folks, good prices.

If you are interested....... I have been working (slowly) to upgrade KMHT (Manchester) closer to reality and to really do a large job on KASH (Boire G.A. in Nashua).  I have also added AI to Jaffrey, Brookline, and Keene.  I would be glad to send you the AFCAD and Airport 2 files when they are a little further along for some "beta" testing by someone else.

I live in Wilton...... near Milford.

Good luck with upgrading.

best,
