Steve,

This sounds like a fascinating idea.

In the aircraft.cfg file you can change the engine type. Look for a;
[GeneralEngineData]
engine_type = 0

The different types of engine are.
0-Piston
1-Jet
2-None
3-Helo-turbine
4-Rocket
5-Turboprop

Just change the number to what you want ;)

Ozzy;

Wouldn't you have to change some of the FDs to compensate for the added power?

The reason I ask is because I have a T-34 Mentor that's super nice, but more power would be an excellent idea.

God, I love saying "MORE POWER"!!
;D

Fisharno,

I agree.  It's true that an engine type can be changed by the switch of a number, but performance specs are a bit more complicated.  Due to a lack of information, however, I can only guess that we're talking about going from a piston engine to a turbo-charged piston engine.

Hmmmmmm.
