XML Gauges

Postby Anish » Fri May 30, 2003 12:32 am

Recentely I got a panel from avisim that had all the gauges in XML format and thier bmp backgrounds zipped into a cab file. The readme was in Spanish, but i finally supposed that the guy wanted me to unzip the cab file into the gauges folder.
It didnt work

Anish when you unzipped the file, was there a directory containing more files. If so you should copy that directory to the gauges folder rather than just its contents.

It's unusual for the bitmaps to be in a cab file and the xml gauges themselves not to be.

What's the file name? I'll go get it and take a look.

Hi,
I know it's not a designing problem but I pretty sure the guys in the "panel & gauge design" forum will be able to help.

Just place CAB files into your gauges directory, don't unzip them or extract any files from them

As Andrew says - most XML gauges are in CAB format. These look like zipfiles & can be extracted with WinZip or similar. Do NOT unzip them. Simply paste the CAB files into the FS2002\GAUGES folder. You should see similar default CAB files already there, for example, beech_baron.cab, boeing747-400.cab, minipanel.cab & simicons.cab.
