Well I intend to use a Buccaneer so I won't need it then. ;D

If you're going to attempt it on a purely carrier to carrier basis, I'd recommend the following:
  • Climb as high as possible - you're going to need a lot of altitude for the glide when you run out of fuel! ;D
  • Take lots of alcohol - it won't stop you crashing but it won't hurt as much
  • Post me all your good software before you leave - I'll look after it for you until you return.......(you'll recognise that I'm not banking on this happening... ;D)

(j/k) ;)

In your upcoming situation, whatever it is, I'd stick your arms out of the windows and flap too - you'll need all the lift you can get! ;D

Hi Woodlouse2002,

Just an idea: In real life all small aircraft that get shipped around the globe for service have to be flown all the way through their own power and capabilies; that may take a week, 2 weeks...depends on the plane.

Down here in Nepal, all aircraft except the helicopters are flown in by transport pilots [ The choppers get a nice ride on cargo jets  ;D ;D] Il76 in popular, once i had seen the huge an124 !!

In my knowledge, it takes about 7 days to bring a Raytheon Beech 1900 through the pacific route.
The Canadian DHC6 Twin Otter, the most widely used domestic aircraft here, takes double or more of that!

Last year my dad assisted a local airline to bring 2 Dornier 228 aircraft from the West Indies. It took 10 days to reach Kathmandu from Guadeloupe:
Not mentioning the stuckups at some places ;)
Guadeloupe - Bermuda - New Foundland - Greenland - Iceland - Belgium - Italy - Egypt - UAE - Pakistan - Nepal.

This is just a crazy, but long and boring idea to fly around the world.
And say, I remeber that USAF once wanted to use the international airport here at Kathmandu for refueling of their fighters enroute for the invasion of Afghanistan after 9/11.

So carriers are not the ultimate choice 8)

Happy landings !

Was it because using carriers was impractical? Or because USAF pilots filled their panties at the thought of a carrier landing?  ;D;) ;D

GO NAVY!!

Just to clarify, the 18 carriers came with the last free version of Arrestor Cables. (v2.4, I think). But, alas, It's no longer available.

But, technically, there's 18 carrier LOCATIONS, not actually 18 carriers.

Hell Bells Woodlouse!!!  You forgot the most important thing - the beer!!

I mean if you're going to be spending days on end sitting in a life raft bashing passing sharks on the nose, you're going to need some anaesthetic!

howdy:

actually, the 18 carriers (or rather 9 carriers with up to three locations each) are still available for free.  It's just that they don't have the arrestor cables functionality, as far as I know.  The file, ACcvAll3.zip, and some other carriers, are avilable here:

Cheers, Holger
