Postby Rombac » Tue May 27, 2003 12:23 am

From some days ago I had lost the sound of the ATC.
Only see the messages in ATC screen, but no voice.
Sound level in configuration screen its OK.
Some ideas..?

Thanks.

Rombac,

As long as you checked "Air Traffic Control" in the sound settings and it is where it should be, I have an idea.

Check in your Sound directory in fs2002 and find the file "usenglishbig.gvp" or "usenglishsmall.gvp." The one you have depends on whether or not you did a custom install of fs2002.

If you do not see either filename in that directory, it may have been corrupted or inadvertently deleted and you may need to re-install fs2002 to get the ATC sound back (or someone else might have a suggestion on extracting this file from the fs2002 disc.)

If you see two or more files in the Sound directory with the suffix .gvp, that can also cause a problem with the voice pack.  In this case you would need to rename files so that only one ends in .gvp.  Doing this shouldn't harm performance because as long as it is in that directory, a file will still load when you open fs2002.

Erik :)
