FS 2000 planes

Postby born_2_fly » Sun May 25, 2003 12:03 pm

I have recently bought and installed FS2002pro as as are so far not experienced at all! one of my freinds has a copy of Fs2000 pro and I would like very much to be able to download concord off of his game and install it into mine. is this a very long winded procedure or is it very quick, also do you have to be making a IFR approack to use approach hold or do an automatic landing as i have heard it is a useful skill to have!  ;D thanks in advance

The FS2000 concorde will work fine in FS2002, but there are some better FS2002 concordes for download

Just get his CDs and copy the aircraft directory into a temporary folder, then copy the Concorde across. You'll then need to identify the relevent gauges/effects/sounds and copy those too!
Alternatively go to downloads here and get the Project Mach 2 Concorde and blow your mates mind with the difference, oh and it'll install a lot quicker ;)

What is the file name for the complete project mach 2 concorde, the way I am reading the descriptions of the files I find when I search, these are only panel and dynamic upgrades for the original model.
Still no linked images allowed around here Paz! Naughty...

Oops I do apologise you are quite right, I thought we had the aircraft too! :o
Okay to get the Mach 2 Concorde go to http://perso.wanadoo.fr/concordesst/ and click on telechargement. You can only get the updates here!!!
I will now go and flog myself with a large wooden stick as punishment for being a plonker ::)

Paz - at my best guess, you'll find something in the order of 50+ FDE updates for that concorde - all done by a man named Pedro Oliveira.

I know because (like a lemming) I've downloaded every single one of them, most of them also including panel variations bringing the d/load size to around 9mb a piece.

Whilst applauding the man for his efforts to give us a realistic concorde, I was eventually obliged (out of pure frustration) to write to him and ask him to stop issuing the bloody things until he'd finished doing whatever changes he was looking into. The last 5 updates that I can think of have all been headed "Final". He was issuing them at a rate of 3 a week at one point.

The last one issued (a couple of days ago so I'd expect a new one by tonight ::)) was called projcon2.zip (Review 2).

It's worth getting though because although I've seen opinions that there are better versions (despite his 50+ attemps at it), the one thing he apparently has achieved is to make Concorde fly correctly as an AI aircraft. In the past, concorde has been notorious for failing to achieve proper cruise speeds/altitudes when used as AI and failing to land correctly.

It should be noted that the fact that it works as AI by no means makes it correct or authentic. It's a different ball game in AI.

:D :D
The Concorde is not the type of AC
I normally deal with, But this tread
got me started, in an attemp to help
born-2-fly, I scanned all 83 pages of
FS2002 last evening. came up with
what I feel is a flyable, landable, SST
As follows;
Page 78, get repaint and plane
Page 83, get  projcon2
use the repaint textures
use the AC
Use the panel and gauges from projcon
use air and cji files from projcon
the three files you will need are;
Projcon 2
se-con
af-conc-fs2k2
try it, I think you will like it :D :D
