All my planes tend to pull left on takeoff

Postby Moach » Sun May 11, 2003 10:22 pm

...even twin props or jets

it's not torque effect, that should only happen  to single prop aircraft

and it's not just the wind, cause it happens even when wind is turned off

maybe it's my joystick, but it's been calibrated several times :P

a penny for your thoughts...
(not really, i'm broke) ;D

Moach,

Where are your rudder and aileron trim set prior to takeoff?

They ALL pull left.  I'm not an engineer but in jets its some kind of centrifugal force.  The critical question is whether you're pulling abnormally left.  If it's so bad that you can't stay on the runway that's a problem.  If it's about 3-5 degrees that's normal.

Moach set all your realism settings to nil and see if it still happens. If it does, then it is probably your joystick.
Oh and if you have any other peripherals attatched to the USB ports disconnect them, as sometimes this can cause trouble too!

check you throttl panel when you use your joystick to make sure both engines r being controlled by it,this sounds like just on is being fired up,this happens to me from time to time...hope it helps

I hate it when they do that.  :D I wasted half an hour trying to figure that out once.

This is called torque. Remember that every action has a equal and oposite reaction. As the prop turns to the right the opposite reaction pulls the plane to the left on takeoff and landing.

Problem is, jets don't have props.
