strange invisible pot holes on the taxiway

Postby Moach » Sun May 11, 2003 10:34 pm

i don't know if you realized this, but at some airports, there are areas on the taxiway that make the plane bob up and down until the nose gear breaks and the plane smacks the tarmac... :P

it is really annoying to plan an IFR flight, do all the clearance and taxiing ATC procedure just to end up nose down on the concrete  :(

is anyone having this glitch too??
and is there a (simple) way to fix this??

Moach is this happening with a specific aircraft? Also is it only on add-on aircraft?
Have you added any scenery?

Hi moach,

Afraid that even the venerable M$ (!!?!! can screw up in a big way on occasions.

There are a number of airports where they haven't applied surface smoothing eg Paris Orly.

This unfortunately results in the effects you have seen.

Don't think you can do much with the default airports. Try to search for 3rd party downloads if possible (I know that this isn't always possible) because the designer will most likely have started from scratch and dealt with the problem at source.

I've also noticed this problem at Atlanta's airport, Dever, and several other small regional airports throughout the US. And yes it is EXTREMELY annoying when you have a PC like mine that takes 4 or 5 min just to reload the flight at the gate. Then all the ATC clearences and all.
Oh well MS can't get everything exactly right.
