GPS Direct To

Locks up my game.  Have to reset to get out.  Any ideas? :(

what system do you have?
i have quit a heavy computer, but when i press the direct to button, my pc has to calculate a few seconds before my screen refreshes again. it has to calculate the entire airport database.
Raw power...the J-58.

Hot favourite is shortage of RAM or Hard drive space, but without system specs it's impossible to be certain.

Every function in FS2002 works fine including the GPS except the Direct To button ???

Could you please tell us:

  • Your processor
  • Amount of RAM
  • Size of hard drive and amount of free space on it
  • When you last did a defrag
  • Graphics card details
  • Sound Card details
  • Operating System
  • Does this apply to default aircraft (read GPS) as well as any add-on GPS gauges?

The "Direct To" button does cause a pause for a while even in the best circumstances. I'd suggest waiting it out to see if that's the problem or whether it's really locking you up. It has a lot to load.
