Very welcome. :)

I actually misunderstood and thought you were trying to post an image in a thread rather than under your nick permanently. You obviously worked it out though. ;)

Now if I could just find a pic of Lady Penelope... :D

I agree that it is a marvelous piece of software that will only get better with time.  The first computer I owned had a hard drive of 500 mb, and I thought that was great!!!  It would have been much worse had M$ not designed the program for add ons.  You would have been stuck with the same old things all of the time.  At least now you can add on what ever you want, either planes, airports and scenery.  It is now even possible for non programmers to take a shot at developing some of their own pet projects and local scenery.  I am sure that 5 years from now we will be saying how we had to play with FS02 way back then!!! ;D

You can improve the appearance of the autogen buildings around the world by downloading the following files:

agbldafr.zip
AGBldAsi.zip
agbldaus.zip
agbldeur.zip
agbldlat.zip
agbldusa.zip

:DIve downloaded and installed the above files from Avsim;although their not the end of the rainbow, they are a vast improvement;and I also agree with Pete.In the real world as a passenger,FLYING SUCKS!Youve got to get to the airport a half day before your departure time to clear security, look at cuyote ugly "flight attendents",eat crappy food,(If your in 1st class and lucky enough to even get fed)having to worry about wether the guy next to you whose couhging has SARS,or TB,and not to mention, even with a window seat, theres not alot to see exept the grey tops of the clouds.I can remember the good 'ol days when when there were STEWARDESSES,with pretty faces and big hooters, who'd offer"coffee, tea or me",(anyone remember the old National airlines comercial-"HI!,Im Brenda,C'mon& fly me!")when kids on the flight got to go up to the cockpit, meet the captain&crew and marvel at the wonder of it all-then be given a pair of wings to pin on,(I still have mine)and when the captain would take the time to point out interesting sights along the way.My first flight was the last flight of Eastern airlines last DC-7,a non-stop from Cleveland to Daytona, and I recall it like yesterday-the throaty drone of the engines and especialy the blue exaust flames that I watched intently the whole flight.I was 5 yrs old. The point is,where else for 50 bucks +/- can you get a piece of entertainment where you can break all the rules and let it all hang out by doing things that only a few eliete people get to do ,or things that would result in imprisonment,or death?(like buzzing the tower at Heathrow in a 777-one of my favorites!)Mabey FS is'nt as real as it gets-SO WHAT!It'still SOOOOOOOO mutch fun ;D
To bad I cant make a living out of this, but it would probably kill me.

All I got was a tiny plastic plane and they only let me look into the cockpit from the passenger area a few seconds while we were on the ground. Of course that might have been a good idea because as a kid I never could resist the impulse to push every button and pull every lever I could get my hands on.  ;D ;D

Recently a friend was on a flight where the captain announced that this was that airline's first all female flight crew. She pointed out that for the rest of the flight the area at the front of the plane was to be referred to as the "Flight Deck" and not the "Cockpit".

HEY,I like women just fine-belive me!Ijust think their place is in the cabin, showing us the emergency exits, oxygen mask use,and pushing the service cart-not in the COCKPIT,asking for a vector and ILS instructions to JFK,thats all. >:(

yeah, women pilots, i can't....

oh wait a second, there are actually women out there that have had the drive, intellegence and patience to succeed in a male dominated profession while we all sit on our butts at home pretending to fly and posting notes in a forum about pretending to fly.

just a little perspective.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against women being pilots at all. I used to know a few who do fly ;)

If any person works hard to become a commercial pilot, my hats off to them

The simulator itself is very good.  But it does get on my nerves when I see tiny hamlets where there should be sprawling cities.  Or seeing tropical vegetation where there should be pine forests.  There are no friggen palm trees in the Andes.  And the people there do not build airfields in canyons.  If they just fixed those problens, I would not have much of a problem.  BTW, the Santiago scenery for fs2000 is wonderful.  It works in fs2002, although it erases the autogen scenery.  But just about every downtown building is recreated in amazing detail.

Yes the terrain in Fs is indeed marvelous, and to a high extent realistic, the only drawback is the accuracy of the positioning of the local elements, which make it a little less than an allrounder. And if one's complaining about a lack of some particular landmark, or an area, then why doesnt he just sit down and dessign for himself,; that way the already hard done work of M$ is aapreciated, the designer is fulfilled and others will probably be benifitted as well
