Where's my wheels???

Postby Paz » Wed Apr 30, 2003 12:17 pm

 ???
Why is it that the landing gear is missing when I watch the replay of my landings?
Is there some way to fix it so the gear is visable in the replays for the pupose of taking screenshots of landings and such?

.. It shouldn't be.. If you're on approach 5mins out, make sure your gear is down.. don't touch anything when you land, then replay.

But this I don't understand.. is it that your gear is retracted, or that you can't see them at all, even when they are down?  It may be a display problem..

My gear is down when I land, but when I watch replays it looks like a hovercraft because the gear are missing. I'll be rolling down the runway with invisible gear, if I switch to the outside view at the last second while on final they show up fine.
Only missing in replays.

That will happen, every now and then. I think it's a little bug in the playback. It seems to happen to me especially when I'm in Full Screen mode. But I believe it depends on your location and situation in the sim that causes it to happen.
But, everybody sees it once in a while.

In the replay the gear and flaps stay just like they are when you start a replay if you want to see them as they were when you was originally playing then you have to make a flight video.

But I watch the landing replays as soon as I pull onto the taxiway, my gear is still down.

Try using the gear during the replays if you are in the VC and move the joystick the yoke will move but the plane will be

This appears to be not true.  When on final, with all my aircraft, flaps down textbook, gear down, everything looks good.. I land, bring down the spoilers, then retract the flaps as I exit the runway.  If suddenly I want to view the landing again, press ALT + O + R, then it brings up the replay screen.. go back 200 some-odd seconds.  When it transitions into the replay, all flaps, gears, spoilers, etc. (except the ailerons, elevons, spoilers, elevators) revert to the position they were in at that time; in this case, when on final.

This brings up another point.  I don't think it's possible, but could the aircraft your flying determine what you see on the replay?  In other words, could there be an add-on aircraft that just doesn't show properly in the replay? (I doubt this..)

I'n not 100% sure about this, but I suspect it has to be a Gmax/FSDS v2 aircraft to show the ladning gear down, and the rule concerning the condition of the landing gear at the point when the replay is started then applies.

Try it - I could be wrong.
