Fs2002 freezing when changing time

Hi,
i am suddenly having the problem that FS2002 freezes when I change the time from the menu.
If  I am sitting on the apron at say 10 am and change the time via the "world/time and season" menu then either the progress bar freezes at 16% or doesn't move at all.
This has only just started to happen, I have not added any new scenery or textures etc so can't see what may be causing it.
If I start at dusk and fly for a few hours everything is fine when it goes dark. It just seems that if I try and change the time manually then this is when things freeze and I have to exit FS.

This is ony one idea but 16% is a common spot for a freeze when there are corrupt bgl files present.

If you have AFCAD 1.4, there's an option in the file menu to scan for them, but if not, you can either download it, or alternatively, look for scanbgls.zip which is a very small stand alone file that is purely that function rather than the entire AFCAD package.
