After spending a month exploring the U.S., I finally started my RTW trip back in mid March, I left out of San Diego and stopped in Hawaii which is kind of nice, since then I have explored the islands of the south pacific, New Zealand, Australia (sydney is nice), most of the Islands of Indonesia, Maylasia (the tallest building in the world is in Kuala Lumpur, but thats about all), I've been all over Southeast Asia and didn't see much worth mentioning, I am currently in Hong Kong, which is quite nicely represented and I suggest for anyone traveling RTW it is worth a visit.
That's pretty much what I'm doing. In that same region too. If we meet at some airport I'll buy first virtual round. ;) I'm island hopping from Hawaii to Tokyo right now. I'm not really doing a RTW flight though just flying where I think the scenery will be nice. Not really keeping a journal either ('cept the one in my head) If it takes me RTW then fine if not...
I liked Hong Kong too. I spend almost a week exploring the area. Just couldn't resist the temptation to take the baron under the bridge before leaving.
If you took off from San Diego then you were only a couple miles from where my father lived just after WWII. He worked at North Island NAS as a Radar Tech.
Like I'm telling everyone lately, if you want nice mountain scenery try flying through Nepal. They have some whopper Mts.
