Major problem :(

Postby BFMF » Tue Apr 08, 2003 12:24 pm

Lastnight I was flying around and without warning, my aircraft started banking to the right by itself. I calibrated my joystick, reset all asignments and sensetivities and it's still doing it. It's happened a couple times already, but previously all i had to do was create a new flight and it was ok, now it doesn't help. I create a new flight; aircraft, time and place all default and when I slew, the aircraft spins to the right very fast.

please help me :'(

Hi Andrew,. This sounds like a joystick or other hardware problem. I often use Slew mode to quickly check my calibration. If the aircraft moves at all in the neutral position I know it needs recalibrating.

If it's a USB connection, try disconnecting & reconnecting the joystick. You could also try reinstalling the drivers. You might also try rebooting as this sometimes works.

Andrew, pick up your stick and shake it. If you can hear a rattling noise, you'll need a new stick v.shortly, as it means part of the variable resistor that controls roll has come loose, and once it drops out, goodbye roll control. I had this a couple of months ago!
However its not all bad, I've got a super new stick ;D

Thanks Doug!

I unplugged my joystick, plugged it back in, calibrated it and now it's stopped spinning 8)

No i've something that's slightly annoying me. while trying to figure out my previous problem, I moved some directories around. Everything works ok except Active camera pro. The dll is in the modules folder and FS2002 recognizes it(it's in the options menu) but I can't look around the VC with my mouse or 'walk' either

any suggestions?

WooHoo.........! See, it wasn't terminal after all.  ;D
I've found the simple solutions work in most cases.

Oops, now what have you done? It's a while since I tried Active Camera. Does it need setting up from within FS2002? Otherwise, try reinstalling it. Maybe it caused the problem in the first place.  ???

I finally figured why Active Camera wasn't working properly. I accidentally forgot to move the activecamera.cfg file back to the root directory, now everything works like before 8)

Thanks all for your help everyone!

Much apreciated!
