Panel configurations....

Postby Jezz » Mon Mar 24, 2003 4:58 pm

Please could some clever guage programmer/panel designer lend me a hand??

I have d/l a couple of really nice panels that look great and function almost perfectly, excpet for one annoying flaw. The course button on this A320 panel only increases/decreases by multiples of 10 - nothing in between, which makes taking VOR radials very inaccurate. It also doesn't hel with ILS approaches.

Is there anything I can change on the panel.cfg to enable the CRS to increase sequentially as do the default FS panels. Or is it in fact a guage problem and therefore a lot more tricky to adjust??

Perhaps I need to go back to the original panel designer??

Yeah, I've had this problem too (with an A320 panel, too!). It can be really quite irritating. Any fix would be much appreciated.

Here is something you might try:

Find a gauge in another panel that is approximately the same as the one giving you troubles.  Go into the panel.cfg file in that panel and write down or copy the GAUGE NAME ONLY.  Do not copy the coordinates or gauge size in the panel (the numbers that follow the gauge name)

Next go into the panel.cfg file of the one that has the gauge issue and replace the faulty gauge name with the one you have just copied.  Load up FS and see if this solved the problem.

If it didn't help, or this is too complicated for you, email me at tshortdog@yahoo.com with the URL of the site you downloaded the panel from and I will do my best to sort it out.
