The name slips me, but when the cloth roof collapsed in Montreal it took nearly a year to fully repair. Looks like the Vikings may be spending the rest of the season somewhere else. Perhaps nearby St. Paul has a stadium.

What size is the university of minnesota's stadium? I would imagine that would be first alternate?

The pregame shows will be on soon.  They will explain everything.

In the meantime my online TV guide still shows Giants at Vikings at 1 pm.

Apparently they are searching for a backup site for the game, uni of minn being first, possibly detroit.
Just watching ESPN sunday countdown, look at soldier field  :o with winds of 50mph possible you can forget throwing the football, if they can get the field clear enough though with a good lead, I would love to be a kicker with a tail wind like that.  Easy new record.

Free admission!

Ticket holders for the original Giants-Vikings game will be admitted and given preferred seating along the 50-yard line. Free general-admission tickets will be available at the Ford Field box office beginning at 9 a.m. ET Monday.

Yikes! 3 roof failures. Engineers normally won't sign off repairs without restructuring the whole mess. I would be very shocked if this is just a patch job this time.

Video: Jets coach trips Dolphins player during game

This play happened with 2:58 left in the third quarter, when the Dolphins punted to Jets receiver Santonio Holmes. As Holmes took the ball for a short return, cornerback Nolan Carroll was hurt on the right sideline as he rushed down to cover the play. The replay showed strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi extending his knee just enough to trip Carroll up on the play. Carroll was down for a minute, but returned to play later in the game ...

"I'm not angry," Carroll said. "It's not my problem; it's the Jets' problem. We just move on."

Alosi had this to day in a statement:

"I made a mistake that showed a total lapse in judgment. My conduct was inexcusable and unsportsmanlike and does not reflect what this organization stands for. I spoke to Coach Sparano and Nolan Carroll to apologize before they took off. I have also apologized to (Jets owner) Woody (Johnson), (Jets general manager) Mike (Tannebaum) and Rex (Ryan) I accept responsibility for my actions as well as any punishment that follows."

The league is likely to come down hard on Alosi, if for no other reason than to prevent others from getting a goofball notion and doing the same thing. We suspect that even if Alosi doesn't lose his job, he's probably going to be very light in the wallet and he may be spending some time away from the team facility.
