Whitney Houston, Superstar of Records, Films, Dies

Whitney Houston, who ruled as pop music's queen until her majestic voice and regal image were ravaged by drug use, erratic behavior and a tumultuous marriage to singer Bobby Brown, has died. She was 48.

Houston's publicist, Kristen Foster, said Saturday that the singer had died, but the cause and the location of her death were unknown.

Whitney was a model, an actress and a singer. Extremely beautiful and talented. I still remember her perfomance at halftime Superbowl in 1991. A beautiful rendition of the US national anthem. She could hold the high notes without forgetting the words, nip slips or stray fingers.

I steer well clear of Apple & have done for years.

Great stuff -- but it's a road we don't want to go down where THEY think they know what's best for US.

Not that short of corporate Communism - albeit with the choice that we don't have to buy Apple - but letting a company control what you can download is BAD BAD BAD ......... It does seem the idiocy of the bulk of human beings is allowing software (& other probably) companies to gain huge control over our lives. Think : Facebook. Apple.

As distasteful as it is, they clearly mark it as "photo recreation", so I would say they are bulletproof as far as the law is concerned. However, Alex, it is the Nation Enquirer, the journalistic version of toilet paper, no, actually I would not even press it against my backside. Maybe better for cleaning the U bend after a good curry!
